Ben Stephens, a student researcher at Carnegie Mellon’s Robotics Institute is helping develop robots that move more like humans. Such abilities that we mostly take for granted include being pushed without falling down and very basic dancing. When translating such ability into humanoid robots, one quickly discovers how complex human movement can be. In the above case, the dancing is a bit disappointing if you’re not really keyed into the current limited state of development of robotic movement.
