On Monday, a day before the launch of E3, Microsoft previewed a number of games including Dance Central 2 due this fall:
“Following up to the best-selling dance game for Kinect, Harmonix expands the full-body dance game universe with “Dance Central 2,” which provides new multiplayer experiences and all-new routines set to an unstoppable soundtrack, featuring Usher, Rihanna, La Roux, Nicki Minaj, Montell Jordan and more. Meet the crews and dance collaboratively with friends in Perform It! or challenge them to a simultaneous head-to-head Dance Battle to determine dance floor supremacy.”
The new features in Dance Central 2 make it more social by allowing simultaneous dancing and also increases music choices by allowing for import of songs from Dance Central into Dance Central 2.
Another interesting addition is creating a storyline to move dancers through difficulty levels:
“Basically, the characters in the game all belong to distinct dance crews each with wildly different (and rather exotic) fashion choices. As the story unfolds, you’ll be making your way through the world of underground dance crews and working your way up the ranks of the best-known dancers in the world.”
