Global Water Dances: Dancing for Water June 25

Global Water Dances is a worldwide effort to use dance to raise awareness about the water crisis affecting so much of the world today:

“Global Water Dances is a world event planned for June 25, 2011. On this day, a 24 hour series of dances around the globe will be danced, centered around water issues. Beginning in the Western Pacific Rim, and encircling the globe, the series of dances will also be broadcast online….”

“These dances will use dance and music to blend local water issues with the global struggle to ensure safe water for all human beings. Global Water Dances will start with performances in countries in the Pacific Rim, rolling westward through the time zones. Each group will produce a 4-part site-specific performance and which will be performed worldwide on June 25, 2011.”

At least 60 locations, from Amsterdam, Netherlands to Quito, Ecuador to Seoul, South Korea are planning events and there is still time to participate. Or publicize the event and plan for joining in 2012!
